Eligibility and the correct visa category
Ukraine is not included in Cambodia's ordinary-passport visa-exemption list. The Type T eVisa is appropriate for tourism, visiting Angkor, a private holiday or a short non-working visit. Employment, professional assignments, study and residence require a different immigration analysis. The purpose stated on the form should match the actual trip.
Cambodia recorded 5,222 arrivals from Ukraine in its 2025 tourism dataset: 4,407 holiday arrivals and 801 business arrivals. This is travel-volume evidence, not a count of eVisa applications or approvals. It nevertheless shows that holiday travel is the dominant recorded purpose and supports a dedicated Ukrainian planning guide.
Check these points before applying
- The same Ukrainian international passport will be used for the application and journey.
- The passport has at least six months' validity on arrival.
- The visit is tourism if Type T is selected.
- The first Cambodian entry point accepts eVisa.
- The passport scan and portrait are clear and current.
- The itinerary allows time for normal processing and corrections.
Fee, processing time and the two different clocks
| Official Type T fee | USD 30 |
|---|---|
| Assisted service total | USD 90 including government fee |
| Normal processing | Three business days |
| Entry validity | Three months from issue |
| Stay | Up to one month, single entry |
Validity and stay are not interchangeable. The three-month period is the window in which entry may occur. The permitted stay after entry is up to one month. An application submitted too early may expire before a postponed journey; one submitted immediately before departure may not leave time to resolve a document problem.
For an international itinerary with several carriers, two to four weeks before departure is a practical planning window. It is not an official guarantee. Cambodian weekends, public holidays, payment review or a replacement image can extend the real timeline.
Using a Ukrainian passport issued in Latin and Cyrillic scripts
Enter the Latin transliteration printed on the international passport biodata page. Do not translate a Cyrillic name yourself and do not substitute a spelling from a residence permit, bank account, domestic record or older passport. Ukrainian transliteration standards and personal documents may differ; the passport being carried controls the Cambodia application.
Pay special attention to surname, all given names, passport number, nationality, date of birth and expiry. If a person resides abroad and booked the flight using another document's spelling, compare the booking with the Ukrainian passport before applying. A small transliteration difference can become a practical airline check-in issue.
The image should show the entire biodata page, including the machine-readable zone. Avoid glare on laminated pages, fingers over corners and compressed messaging-app copies. Use a recent portrait with a plain background, direct gaze and no filter.
Departure outside Ukraine and transit planning
Many Ukrainian travellers currently begin long-haul trips from Warsaw, Chisinau, Bucharest or another operating international hub. Connections may continue through Istanbul, Doha, Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. These are planning examples, not a promise of a specific schedule.
The Cambodian eVisa does not grant admission to a departure or transit country. Check the rules that apply to a Ukrainian passport and, where relevant, the residence document used to return to the country of residence. On separate tickets, determine whether baggage must be collected, whether immigration must be passed and whether an airport transfer is required.
Keep route changes under control. A rebooking from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh is usually still an accepted airport scenario if the new airport is officially enabled, but the application record should be accurate. A switch to an unsupported land checkpoint is more serious. Confirm the operating carrier and final Cambodian arrival code, not just the city name shown by a booking site.
Accepted Cambodian eVisa entry points
The official portal currently lists Techo International Airport (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) and Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS) for air entry. Bavet and Tropaeng Kreal are listed for land entry. Poipet and Cham Yeam are currently marked temporarily closed for eVisa entry.
Border status is time-sensitive. A Ukrainian traveller combining Thailand and Cambodia should identify the exact checkpoint used by the bus or transfer company. “Bangkok to Cambodia” is not enough. If the checkpoint is not supported, the official FAQ says another visa route may be needed.
Step-by-step application plan
- Choose Type T only for a tourist purpose.
- Confirm the first Cambodian airport or border point.
- Check passport validity against the actual arrival date.
- Create clean passport and portrait files.
- Copy Latin-script data exactly from the passport.
- Review the arrival date and accommodation details.
- Pay through the official portal or an assistance service.
- Compare the issued eVisa with the passport immediately.
- Print a copy and retain an offline digital copy.
If the passport is lost or replaced between approval and travel, do not assume the approval transfers automatically. Contact the official eVisa authority and check the airline's requirements. The visa is linked to the passport data submitted.
e-Arrival, accommodation and arrival evidence
Cambodia e-Arrival is a separate digital declaration, not a visa. Submit it through the official platform within seven days before arrival. Use the current flight, first accommodation and passport details. A hotel booking can change, but the information presented should be truthful and current.
At departure and arrival, keep the passport, eVisa, onward or return plan, accommodation details and e-Arrival confirmation accessible. Store copies offline in case roaming is unavailable. Admission remains a Cambodian immigration decision even when an eVisa has been approved.
Ukrainian-specific mistakes to avoid
- Recreating the Latin name from Cyrillic instead of copying the passport.
- Applying with an old passport after receiving a replacement.
- Ignoring re-entry rights to the European country of residence.
- Assuming a self-transfer remains airside.
- Selecting a city while overlooking the actual airport code.
- Using a portrait taken from a residence card.
- Confusing the three-month entry window with length of stay.
- Completing e-Arrival months in advance instead of within seven days.
When paid application assistance makes sense
A direct official application is appropriate for applicants comfortable checking their own data and images. Assistance is more useful when transliteration differs across documents, the journey begins in a third country, the route includes a land border, or several family applications must remain consistent.
Our service reviews the submitted data for common document, date and entry-point problems. It does not provide priority treatment and cannot influence approval or admission. The total assisted Tourist eVisa price is USD 90, including the government fee. This transparent distinction lets travellers compare the service with the USD 30 direct government route.
Questions Ukrainian travellers ask
Can I apply while living outside Ukraine?
Yes, the relevant identity is the passport used for travel, not the country from which the online form is submitted. Ensure any residence or return permission for the departure country remains valid.
Should I enter my patronymic?
Follow the given-name fields printed in Latin characters on the passport. Do not add or remove a patronymic based on another document.
Can a child share a parent's eVisa?
No. Each traveller needs documentation connected to the child's own passport and personal details.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
A short delay normally remains within a wide entry-validity window, but verify that the revised arrival still occurs before expiry and update the e-Arrival information when necessary.
Is travel insurance part of the eVisa?
No. The eVisa and insurance are separate. Review current Ukrainian foreign-ministry advice and choose cover suitable for medical care, disruption and the countries in the itinerary.

Departure-country checklist for Ukrainians living abroad
A Cambodia application does not prove that a traveller can leave and return to Poland, Moldova, Romania, Germany or another place of residence. Check passport validity, residence documentation and re-entry conditions separately. The rules depend on personal status and must be verified on current official sources.
Use the Ukrainian international passport spelling on the airline booking even when a residence card shows a different transliteration. Correct an old airline profile instead of changing the Cambodia application to preserve its mistake. Each family member should be reviewed independently because passport expiry and residence status may differ.
Managing a rebooked journey
Keep the unmodified approval PDF, application reference and official contact channel outside the email inbox. A departure-city change usually does not alter Cambodian identity data, but a different Cambodian arrival airport or a new land crossing requires another port check. Never edit an issued immigration PDF yourself.
If disruption moves arrival by several days, make sure the new date remains inside the entry-validity window and update e-Arrival when required. Visa validity and transport protection are separate: approval does not make a non-refundable connection recoverable.
Compare the direct and assisted routes
The official route costs the USD 30 government fee and suits applicants who can check category, entry point, scans and transliteration without help. Save the official reference and monitor the official status tool.
The USD 90 assisted total adds review and support. It cannot alter government discretion. Compare the service scope and terms before paying; transparent assistance should always distinguish its total from the government fee.
Three realistic Ukrainian travel scenarios
Warsaw to Siem Reap on one ticket
Use the Ukrainian passport for identity fields and verify that the final flight arrives at SAI. Check the Polish residence or return documentation independently. Because the baggage is through-checked only when the carrier confirms it, do not infer protection from a booking site's layout.
Bucharest departure on separate tickets
Allow for Romanian immigration, baggage collection and a missed onward flight. If a rebooking changes the final Cambodian airport, review the port selection and arrival declaration. The eVisa does not cover Romania or the intermediate country.
Family trip after passport renewal
Use the newly issued passport from the beginning. Compare each family member's Latin transliteration and expiry separately. An approval connected to an old passport number should not be assumed valid for a replacement passport.
Information to keep private during an online application
A passport scan is sensitive. Upload it only to the chosen application channel over HTTPS. Avoid public cloud links, social-media messages and shared computers that retain downloads. A legitimate form does not need online-banking passwords, email passwords or remote access to the applicant's device.
Keep the application reference available but do not publish it. If support is required, use the contact route shown by the service or official portal. Remove temporary passport copies from shared devices after the process is complete.
Final pre-departure decision
Seventy-two hours before travel, verify that the approved document opens, the validity covers arrival and the first Cambodian port still appears on the official accepted list. Confirm the airline has the same Latin passport name and that any residence document needed for return remains valid.
Within seven days of arrival, complete e-Arrival with the final route. Keep paper and offline copies, emergency insurance details and the official status reference together. If the itinerary is materially changed, check the immigration effect before accepting the rebooking.
A calm document audit is more valuable than repeatedly submitting forms. Duplicate applications can create confusion without solving an identity, route or eligibility problem.
Practical reminder: the application should reflect the document and itinerary used today, not an older plan saved in an airline account. Recheck official border information whenever a carrier or departure country changes the route.
Before check-in, make sure the traveller can access every document without relying on a Ukrainian phone number that may not roam. Save support contacts and the accommodation address in a form that can be shown offline.
When travelling from a third country, also keep the local emergency and consular contacts appropriate to that departure point. Cambodia documentation and residence-country documentation should be organised separately so neither is mistaken for the other during check-in.
